The Employee Spotlight is a monthly feature that highlights the great talent we have here at Angus Systems. This month we’re featuring Jen K, Account Executive.
What is your education and background?
I have two diplomas, one in Business and another in Accounting. I also have a university degree from Wilfrid Laurier in Anthropology with a minor in Business. I have often considered the idea of furthering my education with a Masters in Business Administration.
What is your role at Angus Systems and what are your main responsibilities?
For the past two and a half years I have been an Account Executive. My main responsibilities are to develop relationships with clients, understand their business needs and in collaboration with the Customer Success department, ensure that our solutions help them achieve their desired outcomes.
How have your responsibilities expanded since you started working with the company?
My responsibilities have changed a great deal as I used to be on the Finance team. Moving into an Account Executive role has really allowed my confidence to grow and allowed me to really learn a lot about our platform, Angus AnyWhere. This helps a lot when troubleshooting for issues.
What do you like most about working at Angus Systems?
My most favorite part of my experience with Angus Systems is the company culture. I enjoy the friendly relationships and solving problems together. Although we are all working from home now, we are learning a lot of patience through collaboration!
What are some of the things you’ve learned while working here?
Along with personal growth in areas of problem-solving and interpersonal skills, my knowledge of Angus AnyWhere and our solutions is evolving as our offering continues to grow.
Is there some contribution that you’re proud of?
I am happy to have contributed assistance to the data and reports team with a project involving a meter reading. It was a great opportunity to put my knowledge of the product to the test.
Is there something that people would be surprised to know about you?
Most people would be surprised to know that I am quite shy, also, I am knitter! I find it helpful in relieving stress. My mother and grandmother taught me basic stitching. Now, I look for patterns and continue to teach myself. I can make a great blanket!
If you weren’t working at Angus Systems, what would you be doing
If I weren’t at Angus Systems, I would probably own a yoga/art studio designed to support positive mental health.
What are some of your personal hobbies and interests?
Other than the fact that I am a certified yogi, right now, my newest hobby is exploring the home décor and design side of myself in my new home.
